The City of Arts and Sciences

The City of Arts and Sciences a big open space of about 350.000m2 in the old riverbed of Rio Turia.

Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences is famous worldwise and is one of the main places of interest of the city, being the second most visited place of Spain.

It is an ultra modern architectonic ensemble mainly signed by the famous valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

Cultural ludic space, impressive by its colossal architecture, the City of Arts and Sciences is composed of:

  • The Oceanografic: the biggest aquarium in Europe.
  • The Sciences Museum Principe Felipe: didactic and interactive exhibitions.
  • The Hemisferic: a 360° Imax cinema.
  • The Palace of Arts Reina Sofia: a very avant-garde Opera.
  • The Agora: building used for sportive events like Valencia Tennis Open 500.
  • The Umbracle: gardened promenade and mirador.
  • The impressive bridge Assut de l’Or is also part of the ensemble.
